Dear Wake Forest undergraduate students,

We could not be more excited to begin the semester tomorrow!

This is an important reminder about the requirement for everyone, regardless of vaccination status, to wear masks indoors as we commence our academic year in person. First, masks are required in all classes, labs and indoor office hours. If you do not have a mask properly covering your nose and mouth, you will not be allowed to join the class or lab, and it will be considered an unexcused absence.

Second, masks are required in all Wake Forest facilities unless special signage indicates otherwise. Please be sure to follow all instructions from faculty and staff regarding health and safety requirements within our academic buildings.

Our faculty have worked hard over the summer to prepare for fully in-person educational experiences, and we ask that you honor that commitment by doing your part to help keep our community healthy.

As we have shared, it is our hope that this will be a temporary measure. And it is vitally important that we all respect the mandatory indoor mask mandate that the City of Winston-Salem and the University have adopted to ensure a smooth transition to in-person education.

We wish you all the best as we embark on this exciting new year together.

Sincerely,

Rogan Kersh
