Dear Colleagues,

Earlier today, it was announced that additional frontline essential workers in Group 3 – including faculty and staff in higher education who are working on-site – would be eligible for vaccinations beginning tomorrow, March 3. We encourage eligible colleagues to make an appointment with one of the following vaccine providers:

  • Wake Forest Baptist Health: If you have been a patient of WFBH, you may be able to schedule an appointment through myWakeHealth.
  • Novant Health: If you have been a patient of Novant Health, you may be able to schedule an appointment or pre-register.
  • Walgreens: Login or create a Walgreens account to check for available vaccine appointments at a location near you (vaccine availability may vary by location).
  • Veterans Affairs: Veterans of the armed services may be eligible to receive a vaccine from their local Veterans Affairs facility.

While the university works on plans to implement our own vaccination clinic, we also continue to work with Wake Forest Baptist Health to identify more immediate opportunities for faculty, staff, and affiliate colleagues to get vaccinated. Colleagues should take advantage of any opportunity to get vaccinated with any of the three available vaccines.

All faculty and staff should self-identify their personal work circumstances or indicate they have received a vaccine by completing the Employee Survey. If you are unsure of what vaccine group you are eligible for, we encourage you to use the NC DHHS Find My Vaccine Group tool.

The Office of the Provost also invites colleagues to join a Faculty and Staff Forum this Friday, March 5 at 4 p.m. for updates regarding vaccine planning, post-surge campus operations, and summer/fall outlook. Check your email for the Zoom Webinar details.

While the vaccine is not required by Wake Forest University, it is highly recommended that all employees get vaccinated. If you have questions related to COVID-19 vaccine distribution and planning, please review these Frequently Asked Questions or submit your question(s) to Human Resources using this form.

Sincerely,
Wake Forest University Human Resources
