COVID-19 Vaccine Update – Group 4 Opens March 31 (students)
This message was sent to students.
Colleagues,
Earlier today, Gov. Cooper announced an accelerated timeline for moving to Groups 4 and 5 for vaccine eligibility. Beginning March 31, Group 4 eligibility will expand to include all university faculty and staff, and students living in congregate housing both on and off campus. Group 5, which includes all adults, is expected to be eligible April 7.
Upcoming On-Campus Clinics
Currently, two first/single dose vaccination clinics are scheduled for Friday, March 26 (Pfizer) and Monday, March 29 (Johnson & Johnson). All appointments for these clinics are currently filled. We often have same-day cancellations, so please add your name to the waitlist if you have not been able to secure an appointment and would like to receive a vaccination.
We anticipate offering the next on-campus vaccination clinic this Wednesday, March 31 (Pfizer). Faculty, staff and students will receive an email with registration information in the coming days.
Other Vaccine Opportunities
Colleagues are encouraged to take advantage of any opportunity to get vaccinated, including:
- Forsyth County Department of Public Health at the Winston-Salem Fairgrounds
- COVID-19 Community Vaccination Center at Four Seasons Town Center in Greensboro
- Walgreens or CVS
If you have been able to secure an appointment through a community vaccination clinic, please keep that appointment.
I’ve been vaccinated, now what?
Once you have received at least the first dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, or the single dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, please indicate this when you complete the SneezSafe daily wellness screening. This information will help the university plan for the allocation of vaccine doses at upcoming clinics and measure herd immunity on campus. Even after being vaccinated, everyone should continue to practice safety measures, including wearing a mask, social distancing and participating in Wake Forest’s asymptomatic testing (find out why).
For general questions, students may contact the Call Center at (336) 758-7500 (Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. Eastern). Students should contact the Student Health Service (shs@wfu.edu, (336) 758-5218) or their Primary Care Physician with questions regarding COVID-19 vaccine efficacy or safety.
Sincerely,
Wake Forest University Human Resources
