COVID-19 Vaccination Opportunity – March 29 (faculty, staff)

You are receiving this email because Wake Forest has an opportunity to offer COVID-19 vaccination appointments and you may be eligible. If you have already received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, please disregard this email.
What: Wake Forest University has appointments available for Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen COVID-19 vaccine
When: Monday, March 29 (only one dose required)
Where: The Sutton Center on Reynolda Campus
Who: Active faculty, staff, students and affiliated employees eligible in Group 2, Group 3 or Group 4 (High-Risk Medical Conditions) are invited to register for an appointment
- Group 2 (Older Adults): Adults 65 and older.
- Group 3 (Frontline Essential): Includes WFU employees (including student employees) whose work responsibilities require them perform their work on-site at WFU property.
- Group 4 (High-Risk Medical Conditions): Includes employees 16-64 years old with one or more high-risk medical conditions for severe disease from COVID-19. View the complete list of eligible high-risk medical conditions to determine your eligibility.
Note: If you are a student and under the age of 18, you should contact the Student Health Service at shs@wfu.edu or (336) 758-5218 to discuss how to schedule your appointment.

If you are eligible and would like to receive a free vaccination, please register for an appointment through Wake Forest Baptist Health. Appointments are limited and only available time slots will be visible on the registration site. Walk-in appointments will not be available, you must register for an appointment in advance.
If you are unable to register for an appointment, you may also add your name to the waitlist for same-day cancellations. A WFU representative will contact you via phone if any same-day appointments unexpectedly become available – please note that this call could come from an unfamiliar number. If you are able to secure a vaccine appointment, please remove your name from the waitlist by visiting the waitlist form link again and editing your response.
Preparing for Your Appointment
- Pre-register in CVMS: Prior to your appointment, you may receive an email from nccvms@dhhs.nc.gov asking you to pre-register in the North Carolina COVID-19 Vaccine Management System (CVMS). Pre-registering in CVMS will help us provide a more streamlined process during your appointment. A North Carolina physical address must be used; out-of-state students may use their Wake Forest P.O. Box.
- Work Considerations: Staff may be eligible to use Release Time for appointments; you should communicate with your supervisor about your plans. You may want to request Paid Time Off (PTO) following your appointment in case you experience side effects.

Questions: Faculty, staff, and affiliated employees may contact the Faculty and Staff Clinic at (743) 223-4217 if they need help obtaining an appointment, registering in the CVMS system, or have additional COVID-19 vaccine questions.
The Friday, March 26, on-campus vaccination clinic also has a limited number of appointments still available. If you already have an appointment at this Friday’s clinic, please keep your originally scheduled appointment. North Carolina plans to open up eligibility to all of Group 4 – which includes all WFU students living in residence halls – beginning April 7.
Even after receiving the vaccine, everyone should continue to practice safety measures, including wearing a mask and social distancing. While the vaccination is not required by Wake Forest University, we encourage you to consider this opportunity.
