Dear Class of 2020,

Nearly a year has passed since we celebrated your academic achievements with a virtual conferring of degrees. Much has happened and much has changed over the last year, but one desire remains consistent: we intend to celebrate your graduation from Wake Forest in person.

We are grateful for your patience and understanding as we continue to navigate the challenges of this past year. We continue to wrestle with changing public health conditions and state government requirements that make large gatherings a challenge. Your input will be important in helping us decide how to proceed.

We have created a short survey and ask that you indicate the likelihood you would attend an in-person celebration for the undergraduate Class of 2020. We are currently considering two options:

  1. An outdoor celebration on Saturday, May 22. Due to current limitations on gathering sizes and social distancing requirements, we would plan to hold the event in an athletic stadium appropriate for the number of people who register. It is likely that 2020 graduates would be limited to two guests each.
  2. A special Homecoming celebration specific to the Class of 2020. Anticipate staged photo opportunities on Hearn Plaza, swag just for your class, and tunnel and tower tours. These opportunities would be complemented by gathering with other alumni at our signature Homecoming event, Party So Dear, tailgate and football game.

Please indicate the likelihood of attending one or both of these events on this form.

Thank you for your time and consideration. We look forward to celebrating with you soon!

Sincerely,
Nathan O. Hatch
President
