Dear Wake Forest students,

Thank you for your continued vigilance in helping stop the spread of COVID-19. In addition to Student Health Service and the SneezSafe tool, we are sharing a new way to help respond to the virus based on your individual situation. Please identify your circumstance, and follow the directions as listed below.

If you have severe or life-threatening symptoms (shortness of breath, persistent pain in your chest), call 911 or go to the emergency room.

If you are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, isolate yourself from others and seek medical evaluation through one of the following options:

  • Call the Student Health Service 336-758-5218 or email apptshs@wfu.edu.
  • Schedule an appointment at the Wake Forest Baptist Health Urgent Care at 743-900-5908 and identify yourself as a Wake Forest student.
  • Off-campus students may call the Faculty/Staff Clinic at 743-223-4217.
  • Have testing done at one of the Novant Health locations.

If you are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 and have been directed by SneezSafe to contact Student Health Service, take one of the following actions:

  • Call the Student Health Service 336-758-5218 or email apptshs@wfu.edu.
  • Schedule an appointment at the Wake Forest Baptist Health Urgent Care at 743-900-5908 and identify yourself as a Wake Forest student.
  • Off-campus students may call the Faculty/Staff Clinic at 743-223-4217.
  • Have testing done at one of the Novant Health locations.

If you have symptoms and have been tested for COVID-19 at an off-campus location and live on campus, you will need to notify the University by emailing this information to traceshs@wfu.edu immediately so we can arrange for isolation housing for you.

If you have symptoms and have been tested for COVID-19 at an off-campus location and live off campus, you should isolate yourself and notify the University if you test positive by emailing traceshs@wfu.edu.

If you have had a direct exposure to someone with COVID-19 and live on campus, please notify the Student Health Service by emailing traceshs@wfu.edu and quarantine yourself from others until you receive instructions.

If you have had a direct exposure to someone with COVID-19 and live off campus, you should quarantine yourself and seek testing 4-7 days after exposure. Results of that testing should be sent to traceshs@wfu.edu.

Definition of close contact and quarantine instructions can be found on the CDC website.

Thank you for your ongoing efforts to help stop the spread of the virus. Please stay healthy and safe.

Sincerely,

Penny Rue
Vice President for Campus Life
