Good Evening –

We write today with a quick, but important update on our move-in process.

After further consideration, a decision has been made to streamline the move-in process by delivering items stored from your Spring 2020 bedroom to your Fall 2020 bedroom prior to your arrival. This will be at no expense to students and work will begin as early as today, August 12, in preparation for your arrival on campus next week.

A couple of important points to understand:

  • Items will only be delivered to University and University-sponsored housing (on-campus residence halls, Deacon Place, and WFU selected units at Deacon Station and the Crowne properties).
  • Students living off-campus are encouraged to consider Storage Scholars offerings if they wish to have their items delivered to their new residence or may follow the University’s pick-up process as previously outlined to them.
  • Deliveries will only include items from your Spring 2020 bedroom. Students who lived in spaces with a common area (e.g. living room or kitchen) will be able to access and go through their common area items at their scheduled move-in time at the LJVM Coliseum. Any items that have not been retrieved or otherwise accounted for by August 30 will be donated.
  • Students living on campus or in University-sponsored housing with items stored by the University who have previously signed up for Storage Scholars’ $199 delivery option will be canceled and transferred into this free offering.

For students who are currently living on campus, please be aware that you may see our movers in and out of your community. They will be following public health guidance related to face coverings and maintaining distance when possible. Movers needing to enter an occupied room (e.g. a double where one student has already arrived) will be escorted by a WFU staff member.

We are hopeful that this service will make the process easier for you as you return to campus and help us all stay safe.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us via email at housing@wfu.edu or call us at 336-758-5185. Please note that we are receiving a high volume of calls and messages as we move toward the Fall 2020 semester. We answer messages as quickly as possible and thank you in advance for your understanding. If something is urgent, please call until you can reach a staff member.

Stay well and we look forward to welcoming you back to campus soon!

Best-

Zach Blackmon, Ph.D., MBA
