The following message was sent to international students from International Student and Scholar Services.

Dear International Students,

We hope you and your families are doing well. Thank you to all of you who were able to join us for our ISSS Town Hall last week. We appreciate everyone who submitted questions in advance and during the Town Hall.

As promised, here is the link to the recording of the Town Hall. We hope that everyone will find this helpful.

Since our Town Hall last week, the Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) has issued follow-up guidance related to fall operations for international students and universities. SEVP has also issued follow-up FAQs. Based on this follow-up information, we wanted to remind you of your enrollment requirements for the fall semester.

Important Enrollment Reminders:

  • You cannot enter the U.S. for online only enrollment.
  • If you are currently inside the U.S. we strongly recommend that you enroll in at least one in-person or hybrid in-person class.

This is a strong recommendation so that you have an extra layer of protection for your current and any future immigration statuses that you may hold.

  • Remember that WFU is operating under a hybrid model so you should do everything that you can to meet the hybrid model of instruction.
  • If you remain outside the U.S., you must maintain full-time enrollment in order for ISSS to leave your F-1 record in an active status.

It is important that you abide by these enrollment requirements as we do not know when SEVP may update or adjust their guidance. We want to try and protect your immigration status as much as possible. Please click here to review the follow up guidance. Please click here to review the follow-up FAQs.

In addition to reviewing the SEVP information, the ISSS team is continually updating the FAQs on the ISSS website. We also recommend that you regularly review the WFU Our Way Forward web page for specific campus updates. Be sure to contact ISSS with any questions that you may have. We look forward to communicating with all of you.

Sincerely,

Your ISSS Team
